Conference Announcement Packet
On behalf of Mike Lewis, President of the Mississippi Assessors and Collectors Association, we are pleased to announce the 2019 MACA Fall Conference November 11-13, 2019 in Starkville, MS. The deadline to register for MACA Fall Conference and book your hotel room is Friday October 4, 2019.
Early Registration for MACA Fall Conference will be held from 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm on Monday, November 11th at the Mill Conference Center. Regular Conference Registration will be held from 7:30 am until 9:00 am on Tuesday, November 12th at the Mill Conference Center. A tentative agenda has been included in this letter. Please review it carefully as the schedule has changed slightly from previous years.
There will not be a registration fee for Tax Assessors and/or Collectors and a guest to attend the MACA Fall Conference. However, a registration fee of $125.00 is required for deputies and additional guests who plan on attending the conference. The fee for contract appraisers is $500. Registration for the MACA Conference must be completed online. The online registration will provide an email confirmation of receipt. Awards Luncheon
The Awards Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, November 13thth. We will be recognizing individuals that have obtained certifications and designations through the Mississippi Tax Collector Education and Certification Program (CRI, CRII and MCR) for Collectors along with the Mississippi Education and Certification Program (AEI, AEII, and MAE) for Assessors and IAAO Designation recipients. Due to the number of awards this year, each designation will be acknowledged as a group with the exception of the MCR and MAE designees. Plaques will be given to each county at the end of the luncheon.
Hotel Information
A block of rooms is being held at the Courtyard by Marriott at $119.00 per night. This rate includes two breakfast vouchers for the hotel’s bistro. You can make reservations at the Courtyard by Marriott by calling 662-338-3116. There are also a limited number of rooms available at the Hampton Inn for $98.00 per night. The rate includes continental breakfast. You can make reservations at the Hampton by calling 662-324-1333. A valid credit card is required to make reservations. Reservations must be made by Friday, October 4, 2019 in order to receive the special rates. All rates are subject to fees, state and local taxes. Tax exempt entities must provide the hotel with a photocopy of certification of exemption with payment.
